I See a Sign

If there's a sign, it must be official, right??

Our temporary "Coming Soon" sign went up today. We shot some video of Lori and I unveiling it. I just need to figure out how to upload video onto the blog.

So, let's catch up on where we are since the last time we posted to the blog:
  • We are working with a designer to help us come up with a cool facade treatment for the Main Street side of the building. The city is offering a grant program for local businesses, so they'll help contribute toward the cost of beautifying the building.
  • We met with our muralist (Arturo Thomae) today to go over concepts for the mural that will adorn our main entrance
  • We have our first official sponsor/advertiser!! We will have space set aside for businesses to market themselves.
  • We are working with a deli to provide part of our overall catering menu. We think this partnership will make many of our customers very happy. We don't want to only offer food for kids. Mom's, Dad's and Grandparents have to eat too.
There's a lot of construction still going on. Everything from wall framing, electrical, heating/air, security/surveillance and plumbing.

By the end of next week our Toddler's room (a working title) will be completed. We'll have photos of the room go up on our website gallery page.

Hey there!

My husband and I relocated to Watsonville a year ago and we always talk about how this place
has no fun places for kids. We have 2 boys, one will be 2 soon and the other 4. It's kind of funny but when we saw the furniture store go out of business we were talking about what a great place that would be for a fun kids place... I just drove by today and saw your sign up so I went online to find you and whaala that's what you guys are doing! So tell us a little more of what you will be doing and when you expect to be open!

Hi Sandra,

Welcome to Watsonville!!

We are hoping to be open in mid-December, barring any unforeseen issues that come up with the city inspectors -- we've had a few surprises already.

We agree that the area is lacking in fun destinations for kids and families. We've been working to get Pump'd off the ground for nearly 3 years now. We stumbled upon the building in March and signed the lease in April.

In all, the space is 9,500 square feet. We will have 3 private party rooms, a toddler playground (which we just finished) and an open area for about 3 or 4 large inflatables. We also have a cool feature that will let our guests book their own parties online -- You will be able to choose a date, a time block and order the type of food you'd like served -- from your desktop. As the big day approaches, one of us will call you to confirm the details. Then all you have to do is show up and have a great time!!

We try to update the blog at least once a week, or as good/bad news comes our way. So please stay tuned!! This is where the grand opening announcement will be made first.
